South Baylo University's mission is to expand professional, clinical and scientific knowledge among students, faculty, staff, and the general public through effective teaching, scholarly activity and quality patient care. The university is dedicated to training primary health care providers in complementary and alternative medical (CAM) methodologies and techniques, and has initiated innovative training programs to achieve this goal.
Founded in 1977, South Baylo University is one of the oldest acupuncture institutions in the United States. It offers degree programs in three languages -- English, Chinese and Korean -- and has a branch campus in Los Angeles. South Baylo's program earned candidate status from the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in January 1993. It was first accredited in June 1993, and was reaccredited in 1996, 2000 and 2003.
South Baylo University offers courses in acupuncture and Oriental medicine that lead to Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. Its programs also prepare students for professional life as licensed primary health care providers in California. The University stimulates students and faculty to excel academically in a nurturing and supportive environment.
South Baylo University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Holistic Science and a Master of Science degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Non-degree certificate programs are available in acupressure-tuina Massage and English as a Second Language (ESL).
