The Institute of Taoist Education and Acupuncture is dedicated to excellence in the teaching of pure classical five-element acupuncture. The school is committed to producing graduates who have a deep understanding and respect for the integrity of the human body, mind, and spirit as it exists within nature, and who have developed the inner qualities needed to be effective healers. The institute is further committed to serving the public at the highest levels of competence and knowledge of classical five-element acupuncture, through inspiring its graduates to educate the public and to teach future students.
The Institute of Taoist Education and Acupuncture is a non-profit corporation located in downtown Louisville, Colorado. It has been granted a certificate of approval by the Colorado Division of Private Occupational Schools. In 2006, its degree program became officially accreditated school by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM).
The Institue of Taoist Education and Acupuncture offers a master's level licentiate in acupuncture, with a course of study comprised of 122 semester units. Material is presented within four 15-day intensives each year, held August/September, October/November, January/February and April/May. Students are required to complete assignments between each intensive. Satisfactory understanding of all material from previous years is a prerequisite to beginning the next year due to the cumulative nature of the curriculum.
